Senior Inc – 0866H               Grades 11 – 12                       1 Credit Full Year

Senior Inc is the third-level, capstone course in the Graphic Design sequence, building on the advanced skills and knowledge gained in Graphic Design 2. The curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Visual Art Standards and the Studio Habits of Mind, with Design Thinking at its core—challenging students to approach problems with empathy, creativity, and innovation while applying design in real-world contexts.

While enrolled in this course, students receive a full-year Adobe Creative Cloud license, providing access to industry-standard software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well as studio resources including professional color printers.

In Senior Inc, students function as an “in-house” graphic design team, managing client relationships, conducting meetings, and producing high-quality designs for actual community partners. Through the Design Thinking process, students define client needs, ideate creative solutions, prototype concepts, and deliver final products that meet professional standards. The course integrates art history to deepen creative perspectives and assigns targeted art homework to further develop technical skills and conceptual depth. By the end of the year, students graduate with a polished, client-based portfolio and the professional skills necessary for higher education or careers in advertising, marketing, branding, or the visual arts.
